The Ultimate Guide to Leggings

LEGGINGS. I can't say enough how thankful I am to live in this time when leggings are so acceptable and versatile. I wear them commonly under dresses in the winter, which helps me stretch my work wardrobe. Plus, I wear them with sweaters, with Jeff spirit wear, and at home lounging on the couch. I think it is super important to find GOOD leggings- and we all know there are different types perfectly suited for different outfits and occasions, right? Here are five of my tried-and true FAVE leggings.

1. VELVET
Yes, I said velvet. SO soft, so comfy, so perfect for the holiday season paired with dresses, fun plaid button-downs, cozy sweaters, and Christmas-colored accessories. These are easily made dressy for any after-work event or party and the texture is such a fun touch.

2. FAUX LEATHER
No words. No words for how life-changing these leggings are. If you have ever invested in a pair of Spanx, their leggings do the same wonders for your stomach, legs, and butt as traditional Spanx. My favorite pair: the Faux Leather Moto Leggings. They are stylish and hold you in comfortably. They can definitely be dressed down for a fun active-wear look, or dressed up with boots or heels. Pricey but truly worth the money. My advice is to size up! They run small.

3. WORK-APPROPRIATE
These are another fabulous J.Crew find. I like these leggings, as they are high-waisted and feature seams down the back of each leg. They zip in the back and are definitely work appropriate. They can be worn as tailored dress pants, as they are less stretchy and more structured, giving a professional look. They work well with shirts of any length.

4. WORKOUT WORTHY
I like these Just Strong leggings for so many reasons- They are a nice pick for the gym, for cheer practice, and for running outside. I enjoy the hidden pocket for holding keys and the durable material. I don't worry about these falling down on a run and I know they will move with me.

5. COMFY
These are not only cheap (only $14.99!) but they are my favorite for lounging. These comfy and soft leggings, from the brand A New Day sold at Target, are the best for a day on the sofa. They aren't constricting so you feel cozy cuddled up watching t.v., but they also feel supportive enough to wear with a sweatshirt to the grocery store.
